3 weeks with the little one.....
It is hard to believe that 3 weeks have already flown by with our little guy. We were in the hospital a little longer than anticipated since Landon had to be in NICU for his lungs. The funny thing is, we didn't mind, we LOVED the hospital. Baptist was wonderful, the nurses were excellent, my doctor is just top notch and so personal, NICU was thrilled to be taking care of an almost 9lb baby, drugs were a great luxury, meals were brought to us by my family, we took all our "Everybody loves Raymond" and "The Office" dvds, I slept like I hadn't slept in 3 months, and in the OR when the nurses said "HE'S 8lb 11oz!!" I couldn't be more thankful for my c-section. As Michael said, I lifted everything that wasn't numb (my shoulders, neck, and head :)) off of the table and said "THANK YOU for my c-section!! Dr. Wise, I will dig the dirt out from your toenails!! THANK YOU!!" Needless to say, as perfect and wonderful as our experience was, we were more than happy to head home.
sweet hospital moments
The ride home
One week old picture - a rare moment with open eyes!
Gotta love the spit up in this one. I feel like I should turn it in to a milk ad. You have to love his fat face in this picture :) After our 2 week dr. visit - Landon is fattening up! He went from 8lb 4 when we left the hospital to 9lb 4!!
We have been blessed by so many of you that have brought us meals, called, stopped by, and simply helped us get ready for little Landon. It is times like this I am thankful for the quiet moments to stop and reflect on God's goodness and faithfulness in our lives. Michael and I were reminded of that even in the hospital as we went down to NICU everyday, life is so precious....to see the work of God on a 1lb baby is indescribable. Every detail is there - only God could make something so perfect. What an honor it is to be able to raise a child and this is only the BEGINNING.....
thanks again to each of you, especially our family, that has helped us make this transition to parenthood so much greater and fun than we ever imagined!
